A short cruise on the river Ouse

This morning the Thai group learned about different forms of transport and the verbs and prepositions that go with each of them.
In the afternoon they went for a short cruise on the river Ouse. The Ouse is the largest of the two rivers that run through York. The weather was a little chilly so they sat inside the boat and saw York from a very different angle.

Visit to Jorvik Viking Centre

This afternoon, Monday May 10th, the group of Thai students are going to visit Jorvik Viking Centre. We have been looking at the history of Vikings in York. This morning we wrote messages using the Viking rune system. Maybe we'll see more runes in the centre.
Take a look at the website yourself:

Thai young learners group

The ELC is running a special course for a small group of Thai young learners. They were due to arrive before the Icelandic volcano started misbehaving but were delayed.
They eventually arrived on Sunday and almost immediately went on a day trip to Edinburgh the next day.
Some photos will be posted here when they have been on a few more trips.
